Special Edition: Interview with Clayton Rice

BJ: Thank you for agreeing to this interview, Mr. Rice. Now you’re running for Senator, correct? What is some of your positions and goals for the Universal Triumvirate?

C: Well, I actually already won the race for the Senate, I think the official announcement comes sometime today. I really think that the Universal Triumvirate needs to move towards a period of economic growth via the private sector, and that’s what I’m going to try and help during my time as Senator.

BJ: Now there are two Rices in the Triumvirate now, you and your brother Lancelot Rice. What is your relationship with your brother who is the current UT’s Chancellor?

C: My brother is the person who I learned politics from. He’s 4 years older than I am, and he’s worked with a Senator and went to law school and stuff, so I’d like to think he’s someone who really knows what he’s talking about. I don’t agree with his ideology, but I can respect him for literally holding the Triumvirate together whenever it seemed like it was falling apart.

BJ:  Originally it was just your brother in the Universal Triumvirate until later, what gave you interest, of becoming apart of the UT?

C: I got old enough and decided I couldn’t let him run the tables in this new era of our history. Plus, you never know, I think that I may try to follow the career path he has chosen in life.

BJ: Lately events have been going on, what is your thoughts on international politics?

C: I don’t involve myself much with international affairs, but I can tell you this: the whole MicroWiki boycott is very intriguing. As a devout christian myself, I like to think that Markus only represents a very very small minority of people, and I must say I support my brothers decision to close the embassy on the forums. The website moderators have really just fallen flat when it came to Markus, and I’d go so far as to say it’s because of their personal views on religion as well.

BJ: What do you predict what the Rice Administration will do in the coming weeks? Do you think that international politics could affect Rice’s actions.

C: I think Lancelot is riding a wave of popularity unseen before in the Triumvirate, even more than Nathan Maine. I think he will get a lot of things done, but I’m most looking forward to seeing how he will handle making the new code of law.

BJ:  What do you expect of your fellow senators and the Conclave as they take their respective offices today? Do you think there will be any conflicts of interests?

C: I expect them to be professional and be somewhat productive, or else they shouldn’t maintain their jobs, it’s as simple as that.

BJ: What do you think of the UT’s current foreign affairs?

C: I respect my brothers position, but I’m afraid I don’t know too much to comment on it for official purposes.

BJ: As you replied to Question 5, a wave of popularity unseen before? Why do you say that?

C: I’ve never met anyone who didn’t like him. He’s a Progressive who can compromise and legislate for what he thinks is the best thing for the Triumvirate regardless of political belief. He hasn’t been in office long, but certainly there’s a feeling of immense popularity with him.

BJ: In the coming months, do you expect the Triumvirate’s population to get progressively bigger and a heightened activity rate?

C:  Absolutely. We’re at 13 citizens within a few days of us being active again, and over time I can certainly foresee us becoming a powerhouse unrivaled in politics.

BJ: Any final thoughts?

C: No, I think that’s pretty much it.
